“Informative, entertaining, lively, witty.”
A guided tour at Sulgrave Manor might just be the best in history.
A pre-booked group enjoys personal attention from the time an initial enquiry is made to when its guests wave good bye. Visits are tailored to their interests and requirements; experienced and knowledgeable guides will share the stories of the Washington Family, the unique history of the House and its special status today. Tours allow for individual discovery of fine pieces furniture and artefacts. New for 2021 are two exhibitions with previously unseen archive material displayed. The historical garden designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield is of interest in every season and the outdoor seating encourages taking time to relax and enjoy the views.
Groups can pre-book a half day or full day visit with the appropriate catering and the option of a Garden Tour. Guests can bring their own picnics if they wish. Sulgrave is a charming village with stone and thatched houses, on the Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire border, close to major routes. A walk to the Church to see the Washington memorial is an added bonus.
