Value for money:
We pride ourselves on not ripping off clients. We are a charity, after all! The standard package (£50 day delegate rate) is great value. If you negotiate extras, they will be of equally good value. If we fail to live up to our own standards, we will acknowledge it – financially.
We quote a daily rate here but are happy to negotiate for half a day or even a couple of hours. Bookings in the late afternoon and early evening are especially welcomed.

It is hard to describe what being at Sulgrave Manor is like. Its peaceful location in the heart of rural England, the historic ambiance, the sense of space with gardens, fields and village provide a fruitful, positive atmosphere likely to influence your event towards the outcomes you are seeking. For relaxation and recreation – essential to ensure that your event is productive – we can offer a stroll round the beautiful gardens of the Manor or a tour of the house itself.
Something different from the indifference and pressure of the busy hotel:
We may well be busy but we will never be indifferent! This is a side of our work which we need to build up – we know that and we know that it means we have to work at it. And we do.
Good food prepared with care:
A seasonal range of delicious buffet food - sustaining but also refreshing, no post-prandial slumbers! – is included in the tariff. Mouth-watering deserts, more elaborate meals can be provided on booking.
A friendly, flexible and efficient staff:
Our staff work with us because they love the Manor and want to share their enjoyment of it with others. Most of them multi-task as is shown by the photo in which two of the guides and two of the schools’ presenters are helping with the ‘Big Clean’. Corporate meetings are just a part of the job so they are novel and interesting. The team know you have a job to do while you are with us, they want you to do it well and enjoy yourselves while doing it.
A focus on your needs:
When we cannot meet your needs we will say so; when we have a ‘half-way house’ to offer we will make it clear that that is what it is. But most of the time we will say “welcome” because we know we can do it.
A unique blend of modern and historic buildings:
This is our main function room. Built in 1999, it seats one hundred theatre style and is of a sufficient size to be flexible for other seating set-ups. Natural light comes from all sides – and can, when the sun shines, be a problem for projectors! One end wall is equipped with a small screen for projection and whiteboards. A flip chart and media projector are provided within the tariff and other equipment can be hired in at cost. Doors open out both directly to the Courtyard and , on the other side, into the gardens with a small terrace area with seating, immediately adjacent.
The Brewhouse has a very different atmosphere : there are still some signs of its original use in the floor and on the beams. But modern heating and lighting make them far more comfortable than in past years. There are two separate rooms, within the same building,
each with natural light. Each can seat 25 theatre style or 18 board-room style but work better for smaller numbers. We suggest a maximum of 15. They are suitable for small working groups and ideal as break-out rooms with a Courtyard Hall booking.
Your group will, of course, have access to the Manor gardens in which to stroll, ruminate and refresh themselves during breaks before the demands of the next session. Depending on the timing of your visit with us, this access may be exclusive or may be shared with other visitors. Currently, events held in the season (May – October) will normally share the facilities with the public after 2pm.
Not a problem. We have our own (free) hard-standing car park and, if your numbers require it, can easily open up additional space adjoining the site. There are no rush-hour jams in the immediate vicinity – the motorways are, of course, beyond our control!
We appreciate that you may want complete privacy. We have an active programme with school children most mornings, groups visiting throughout the year and a commitment to be open to the public in the afternoons (except Mondays and Fridays) through May to October. But it is perfectly possible to arrange total privacy – though we do need sufficient notice to arrange this so it may be difficult to combine short-notice bookings with exclusivity. And there will be an additional cost involved to compensate us for the lost business.
Other Types of Events
The Courtyard Hall is very suitable for exhibitions or similar events and we are, of course, most willing to welcome such bookings. We can also accommodate evening events, with or without a meal. We are very happy to arrange for your group to be given a tour of the Manor house during your time with us. The house is quite small so it may be necessary to split your group to two or more tours. The normal tour lasts about an hour; a ‘walk-through’ taking about half an hour can be arranged and we have found that the shorter tour tends to work better for most corporate events.
If you are making a pack up for your delegates, we are happy to provide originals of maps, driving directions, an outline history of the Manor, the menus you have chosen, a site map with details of the rooms you are using, fire assembly point, facilities etc. for you to photocopy for the packs. Additionally we will provide the appropriate number of copies of our annual leaflet if you will be kind enough to include those for us.

Extensions to the access times can be negotiated on booking at a small additional cost.
The Brewhouses can be hired along with the Courtyard Hall as breakout rooms for £150 each per day or an hourly rate can be offered.
The tariff covers two servings of coffee, tea and biscuits, a buffet lunch with coffee, water in the meeting rooms and one flipchart per room and one media projector. We will agree charges with you for any additional equipment we hire on your behalf.
Charges for a morning (9.00 – 12.30) or afternoon (2.00 – 5.30) session will be proportionate – depending on whether you wish to include lunch. An hourly rate is also available for less than three hours.
At certain times of the year and days of the week, the Manor can be booked on an exclusive basis for an additional charge. Please enquire when you telephone initially if this option interests you.
A deposit of 25% of the estimated total charge is required on booking. This is non-refundable from 12 weeks before the date of your event.
Note VAT is charged additionally but only on the food elements.
