The Manor offers the following programmes
About Visits to Sulgrave Manor
All visits last four hours 10am-2pm. All schools have an indoor area as a base and to eat lunch. There are shopping opportunities at lunch time or goody bags can be pre-ordered. A Risk Assessment is available on the web site. There is free parking for coaches and complimentary tea/coffee for drivers. Every child receives a 'Come back free' Voucher. Pre-visits are welcome. For the following programmes: The cost is £6.50 per child One free adult with every 10 children. One to one carers are free. Costumes available for the Tudor Experience and Exploration in the Sixteenth Century (KS2) at £3.00 per child. Half costumes for Key Stage 1 History Day and Exploration in the Sixteenth Century (KS1) at £1.75 per child.The programmes are led by members of our dedicated team but teachers/adults are required to supervise the children at all times. Please note that the Exploration programmes are not available on Mondays. Small groups and special schools are welcome but minimum charges apply: £118.00 for groups of 12 children or less with costumes or 18 children or less without costumes.
The Tudor Experience
Suitable for KS2. Breathe in the atmosphere of a real 16th century House and see authentic artefacts, hear the tales of those who worked in it, be involved in marriages, beheadings and the King's Great Matter. Play some Tudor games, learn your letters, sing and dance, compare the lives of the rich and the poor. The day can be adapted to suit KS1.

Social Life in the Sixteenth Century
Suitable for GCSE and 'A' Level. Students have the opportunity to get up close to real documents of the time. This is a valuable experience in looking at and using primary source evidence. A tour of the House reveals what it can tell us today about the social standing and family life of Lawrence Washington. A light hearted session allows students to handle some replica artefacts, show your skill with the traditional gambling games, play a musical instrument, try on a courtly costume, assess the effectiveness of some potions.....For more information please contact the Manor.
The English Civil War
Suitable for KS2 and 3 Get up close to some original documents, give account of yourself to Obadiah Smith, the Sequester; listen to the tales of those who work in Abel Makepeace's house, prove yourself in the Pike Drill!

Exploration in the Sixteenth Century
Suitable for KS1 and KS2. Look at maps to see the extent of the known World, consider the dangers of a long sea journey, decide on the provisions, load the ship, follow the maps and instructions to search for treasure!

Key Stage 1- Living Long Ago
Make comparisons between the 16th Century House and a house to-day, where is the fridge/freezer, the microwave, washing machine, bathroom and computer? Spot what doesn't belong. Make a posy to keep away bad smells, play some games and learn a dance...

KS3+ The Manor welcomes students of 'A' Level History, Social, Political and American History as well as Travel and Tourism.
